Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn dismiss Dylan Farrow’s molestation claims

Woody Allen and wife Soon-Yi Previn brushed off allegations of child molestation brought by Allen’s adoptive daughter in the new HBO documentary series Allen v. Farrow.

The series chronicles a custody battle between Mia Farrow and Allen, featuring Farrow and her two adult children Ronan and Dylan, and explores allegations that were first brought against Allen in 1992 from his divorce with Farrow.

Allen and Previn, Mia Farrow’s adoptive daughter with whom he began a romantic relationship in the early 1990s, said the documentary was filled with inaccuracies, alleging the couple was approached about it less than two months ago and was given only a few days to respond.

“These documentarians had no interest in the truth. Instead, they spent years surreptitiously collaborating with the Farrows and their enablers to put together a hatchet job riddled with falsehoods,” a statement from the couple obtained by Fox News read.

The statement goes on to dismiss the allegations as “categorically false,” adding that multiple agencies investigated them and “whatever Dylan Farrow may have been led to believe,” finding no abuse had taken place.

“It is sadly unsurprising that the network to air this is HBO — which has a standing production deal and business relationship with Ronan Farrow. While this shoddy hit piece may gain attention, it does not change the facts,” the statement read.

Dylan Farrow, 35, alleges Allen sexually abused her as a child when he was dating Mia Farrow. Allen was never charged for the allegations since they were first revealed in the 1990s.

Farrow talked about her fears of how the famed director may act in retribution, especially when the documentary was released.

“He’ll do whatever he has to do to try to save himself from the truth, from the mess he made,” she said.

Mia Farrow and Allen started a relationship in 1980 that lasted over a decade. He began dating Previn in 1991 when she was 21. Allen married Previn, 35 years his junior, in 1997.

In Allen’s denial of Dylan Farrow’s allegations against him, he has alleged that Mia Farrow coached her to say she was assaulted after discovering the relationship between him and Previn, according to the New York Times.

Allen later said in his book, Apropos of Nothing, that he understood Mia Farrow’s anger toward him and Previn’s romantic ties but that he has no regrets about their relationship.
