A New Jersey man who coughed on a grocery store employee and then claimed to have the coronavirus has been charged with a litany of crimes, including making terroristic threats.
The man, whom police have not named, got into a confrontation with a Wegman’s employee sometime on Monday, Gov. Phil Murphy said at a Tuesday press conference. The governor said that the suspect “coughed on the woman and told her after doing so that he had coronavirus” and announced that the individual is being charged with making terroristic threats, harassment, and obstruction of justice.
