Clinton leaves a message for secret Facebook group ‘Pantsuit Nation’

Pantsuit Nation is a thing, and Hillary Clinton knows about it.

The Democratic presidential nominee sent a message Tuesday afternoon to the secret Facebook group dubbed “Pantsuit Nation.” What first began as a small group of friends ready to wear pantsuits — in an ode to Clinton’s wardrobe — to vote on Election Day has since become a group of nearly 3 million people.

Jenna Lowenstein, a staffer working on the digital team for Hillary for America, posted in the group saying she had alerted her boss of the Facebook group. And Clinton responded.

“I’m honored and humbled to have all of you with me,” Clinton wrote, “but I’m even prouder to see this community represent the best of America: people of all backgrounds and beliefs who share a vision for a brighter future for our children, and who have each other’s backs.”

After more than two hours of posting the message, more than 73,000 people have liked it and nearly 10,000 have commented — all messages of support and awe.

Here’s how Clinton closed her message: “Tonight, I hope we’ll finally break through that highest, hardest glass ceiling together, and use those pantsuits for the best occasion of all — celebrating!”
