Trump tells top lawmakers 3-5 million illegals voted in election

President Trump told congressional leaders visiting him at the White House on Monday evening that 3 to 5 million illegal aliens voted in the election, costing him the popular vote.

“Well, we talked about going back through past elections. Everyone in there goes through elections and stuff so everybody’s giving their different histories of different parts,” House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy said following the dinner.

Meanwhile, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi wouldn’t discuss whether the newly minted president made a shocking statement during the visit.

Trump rehashed campaign issues for about 10 minutes of the bipartisan meeting. Trump has previously said voter fraud from those in the U.S. illegally contributed to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s winning the popular vote. Clinton finished with a 2.8 million-vote advantage, but Trump won 306 electoral votes, while Clinton pulled in 227 votes.
