Presidential candidate Joe Biden said his campaign message for voters is that the U.S. should return to a time of higher morality.
Appearing on “Good Morning America” Tuesday alongside his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, the former vice president was asked about presidential mottos. Contrasting to President Trump’s preeminent campaign slogan of “Make America Great Again,” Biden suggested the motto “Make America Moral Again.”
During the interview Biden blamed Trump for dividing the country.
“Make America return to the essence of who we are, the dignity of the country, the dignity and treating our people with dignity and this God-awful deliberate division that’s being taken in order to separate people to aggrandize his own power,” Biden said.
Biden, who recently announced his candidacy, is currently the front-runner among the field of 21 candidates. The latest poll released Tuesday showed he has a commanding lead among likely Democratic voters, bringing in 39% support. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., came in second with 15% support from those surveyed.
