Annandale woman found dead in her home

Fairfax County police are investigating the death of a 52-year-old woman found in her Annandale-area home Saturday.

Julie Mansfield Adams, of the 8300 block of Glastonbury Court, was discovered at 4:30 p.m. by Fairfax County police, who had received a tip from West Virginia State Police to check on her welfare. Her homicide appears to be domestic in nature, police said, and is possibly connected to the suicide of a 41-year-old man in Greenbrier County, W.Va.

Adams had signs of trauma to the upper body, though a police spokeswoman declined to say how she died. The Greenbrier Sheriff’s Office could not be reached for comment Sunday to offer further detail on the suicide victim.

Adams’ death comes as Fairfax police continue to investigate the murders of two elderly Springfield women.
