Former Vice President Joe Biden walked over and gave Sen. Bernie Sanders a hug during the Democratic presidential debate in New Hampshire.
The kind gesture came within the first hour of the event Friday evening. A moderator said, “Hillary Clinton criticized Bernie Sanders in the Senate saying nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done.”
After Sen. Amy Klobuchar said, “I like Bernie just fine, Biden made his way to Sanders and draped an arm around the Vermont senator’s shoulders.
Sanders and Biden placed second and fourth, respectively, in the Iowa caucuses. Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, had a razor-thin lead with 100% of precincts reporting, although some are calling for a recanvass after technical issues roiled Monday’s contest.
The New Hampshire primary is set for Tuesday.
