The Martin O’Malley campaign has released this video, hitting Hillary Clinton for flip-flopping on gun policy:
“While Secretary Clinton is in the middle of yet another policy reset–this time on gun safety–she just can’t escape her past, poll-tested positions,” the O’Malley campaign writes in an emailed press release of the video.
“Today, Secretary Clinton attacked Jeb Bush for saying ‘the federal government shouldn’t be involved in gun laws.’ The only problem? She said nearly the exact same thing when she was running for President in 2008, when discussing why she was backing down from supporting licensing and registration requirements for gun ownership.
“There is only one candidate in this race with a fearless and principled record taking on the NRA and delivering the most comprehensive gun safety laws in the country – and that’s Governor Martin O’Malley.
“If Secretary Clinton wants to attack Republicans or other Democrats over their gun safety records, she might want to check her own record first.”
