Jeopardy! contestant Amy Schneider surpassed Matt Amodio’s 38-game winning streak during Monday’s episode of the game show, snagging the second-highest number of consecutive wins in the show’s history.
Earlier this month, on Jan. 7, Schneider, a transgender woman from Oakland, California, became the fourth contestant and first woman to surpass $1 million in winnings on the show, according to the New York Times.

As of Monday’s show, she has racked up $1.3 million in winnings and holds the fourth-highest earnings total, according to the show’s hall of fame website. The engineering manager is also rarely wrong. Of the clues she has responded to, Schneider has provided the correct question 95% of the time.

Winning streaks on Jeopardy! have become more frequent in recent years after the show removed a rule in 2003 that limited contestants to only five consecutive wins. The lack of a limit means winning contestants can return indefinitely.
Amodio’s historic 38-game run in 2021 ended after he failed to answer the Final Jeopardy clue correctly.
