A man in Brooklyn recorded himself calling out New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and his wife Chirlane McCray for walking in a park as stay-at-home restrictions are still in effect in the city.
The mayor is known to exercise in Prospect Park in Brooklyn, which is roughly 11 miles from Gracie Mansion in Manhattan, and was recorded exercising there in a video posted to Twitter on Saturday.
@NYCMayor no, I won’t “give it a break.” You don’t get a break. We don’t get a break.
You can’t change the past & will always have blood on your hands.
If I were you, I’d be working night & day to help those in most dire need. Maybe start with your inadequate homeless services. pic.twitter.com/i71ulg7Hvl

“Seriously, you guys have a park. You live in the middle of a park. You don’t need to nonessentially travel to Brooklyn,” said a man, identified as Darren Goldner by the New York Post, in the video.
“Give it a break,” de Blasio responded as he and his wife continued on their walk while wearing face masks.
“I’m not going to give it a break. This is selfish behavior,” Goldner said. “This is so terribly selfish. You call yourself a progressive, but you chauffeur yourself to Brooklyn. You force people to drive you.”
The mayor previously defended walking in the park earlier in April, telling Politico it’s “something he needs to do ‘to be most effective.’”
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Monday that he might extend stay-at-home restrictions in many parts of the state as it increases coronavirus testing.
