“My family and I thank Mayor @sylvestertrner his terrific staff, @houstonpolice, @METROHouston, @SBCHouston, @StMartinsDOK — and really all Houstonians — for your professionalism and obvious care in making Barbara’s visitors and funeral guests feel so welcomed. Thank you all,” Bush wrote on Twitter.

The former first lady’s funeral service was held on Saturday. Four former presidents were in attendance.

Barbara Bush died Tuesday at the age of 92 following a year-long battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and congestive heart failure.

George H.W. Bush was admitted to the hospital one day after attending the service, where he is “responding and recovering” to treatment for a blood infection, according to his spokesperson, Jim McGrath.
