Trump to visit EPA for executive order signing

President Trump will visit the Environmental Protection Agency on Tuesday for the signing of an executive order that will unravel a key element of his predecessor’s environmental agenda.

A White House official confirmed the upcoming visit to the Washington Examiner.

Trump will undo former President Obama’s Clean Power Plan, a rule that restricts greenhouse gas emissions for coal-fired plants. The rule has been on hold since the Supreme Court halted its implementation last February pending further judicial review.

Career staff at the EPA have been fiercely critical of Trump over the actions he’s taken to roll back climate regulations, making Tuesday’s visit a potentially awkward situation for the president.
