The former fiance of a Navy Chief Petty Officer found dead in her Florida home has been arrested for murder, according to a report.
Andrea Washington, 37, was found dead on Sept. 17, less than two weeks after she had filed for a restraining order against Danny Ray Beard, 36. Beard was arrested Friday, reported First Coast News, and is being held without bond.
Washington had applied for a restraining order, claiming Beard had pushed her down, kicked her and threatened her with a gun, but the restraining order was dismissed because Washington did not appear in court. She was dead at the time of the hearing.
A mother of three, Washington was stationed in Jacksonville, Fla., and was buried in Atlanta, Texas, her hometown. The outlet had previously reported Washington had just been promoted and pinned.
“The goal of making chief is a major accomplishment and for her to make it after all these years,” family friend Phantom McClendon, said, “and the simple fact (is) that she can’t even enjoy it.”
