Like Alexander Hamilton in the hit broadway musical bearing his name, abortion advocates on Monday wore their opinions on their sleeves on Twitter in the wake the Supreme Court’s Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt ruling.
Quoting lyrics from the the Tony-award winning musical “Hamilton,” supporters created #Ham4StoptheSham on Twitter after the Court determined in a 5-3 ruling that regulations for Texas abortion clinics placed an undue burden on women seeking to end their pregnancies.
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who concurred with the majority, is featured in one tweet jubilantly dancing outside of the Supreme Court shooting rainbows from the palms of her hands.

Another alluded to the impact the late Justice Antonin Scalia could have had if he had joined with the remaining conservatives on the bench, referencing George Washington’s desperate plea for revolutionary reinforcements in the musical.

“It must be nice, it must be nice — To have Kennedy on your side.” #Ham4StopTheSham #SCOTUS,” stated another tweet, modifying Aaron Burr’s lyrical lament that rival Hamilton always has George Washington’s support to refer to the liberal justice.

Becka Wall, who works for abortion advocacy organization NARAL Pro-Choice America, celebrated the female justices’ unified pro-choice position by placing their heads onto the bodies of some of the dancing cast members.

Featuring Hamilton giving Marquis de Lafayette a high-five upon the British surrender after the last battle of the revolutionary war, Alana Eichner of the National Women’s Law Center similarly proclaimed, “We won. We won.”
