Prince Harry wants people to call him ‘Harry’

Prince Harry wants people to call him “Harry” as he and his family are set to relinquish their duties as senior royals.

“He’s made it clear that we are all just to call him Harry, so ladies and gentlemen, please give a big, warm, Scottish welcome to Harry,” an event host said Wednesday during an introduction for Harry at an event in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Harry has until the end of March to continue using his titles, including Sir and His Royal Highness. Last week, it was revealed that Queen Elizabeth II barred Harry and his wife, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, from attempting to monetize the “Sussex Royal” brand.

“While The Duke and Duchess are focused on plans to establish a new nonprofit organization, given the specific U.K. government rules surrounding use of the word ‘royal,’ it has been therefore agreed that their nonprofit organization, when it is announced this spring, will not be named Sussex Royal Foundation,” a representative for the couple said.

Meghan was reportedly upset by the ban as the couple tries to become financially independent.

In January, the couple announced they were stepping back as members of the royal family.
