Kanye West: You can’t make me not love Trump

Rapper Kanye West defended President Trump on Wednesday, telling all his haters that they can’t make him not love the man even if he doesn’t agree with everything Trump does.

“You don’t have to agree with trump but the mob can’t make me not love him,” West wrote on Twitter. “We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I don’t agree with everything anyone does. That’s what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought.”

West has faced criticism for his apparent support of Trump, especially after the rapper met with the then president-elect at Trump Tower in New York City after the 2016 election.

He noted to his critics that he would never tell someone not to support former Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

“I don’t tell a Hillary supporter not to support Hillary,” he said. “I love Hillary too.”

In a subsequent tweet, West clarified that he’s not a Democrat or a Republican.

“I love when people have their own ideas. You don’t have to be allowed anymore. Just be,” he said. “Love who you want to love. That’s free thought. I’m not even political. I’m not a democrat or a republican.”

During the Trump Tower meeting, the two discussed multicultural issues, West said at the time.

“He’s a good man,” Trump said after the meeting. “We’ve been friends for a long time.”

Later Wednesday, West was told by his wife, Kim Kardashian, a Democrat, to further clarify his Trump remarks.

“[M]y wife just called me and she wanted me to make this clear to everyone. I don’t agree with everything Trump does. I don’t agree 100% with anyone but myself,” West wrote.
