Green Party nominee Jill Stein made a campaign promise in response to all the confusion seemingly going this week concerning geography and history.

Stein’s message follows a spat of memory lapses that began early Thursday when Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson blanked on Aleppo, a city in Syria ravaged by civil war. “And what is Aleppo?”, he asked in response to a question during a live segment on MSNBC about what he would do to address the situation in Aleppo. He later attempted a bit of damage control, claiming the flub happened because was thinking about an acronym.
In writing about Johnson’s Aleppo flub, the New York Times made a few mistakes of it’s own misidentifying Aleppo as the “de facto capital of the Islamic State” and as the capital of Syria, after which it published two corrections.
On Friday MSNBC’s Joy Reid sent out a series of tweets chiding politicians like Donald Trump for praising Russia and its president Vladimir Putin. But in doing so, Reid seemed to suggest that Russia is still communist, though the Soviet Union fell in 1991. She even called Putin “Comrade Vladimir.”
Reid also took aim at Stein, blaming her for pushing the “socialist” Green Party to go “full Putinite.”
Stein currently earns about 3.3 percent support in polls in a four-way presidential race.
Even Jill Stein, who’s taken the socialist Green Party full Putinite, and the Putin-tilting Snowdenistas haven’t been nearly as successful.
