“Saturday Night Live” went all-in on the newly leaked audio of Donald Trump’s vulgar comments about women, capping a day of wall-to-wall news coverage about the Republican nominee and his future in the presidential race.
The show’s cold open began as a riff on Tuesday’s vice presidential debate, with Gov. “Mike Pence” denying that Trump has ever said anything bad about women. The debate then cut to the “breaking news” of the Trump remarks, with CNN’s “Brooke Baldwin” interviewing “Trump” himself, played again by Alec Baldwin.
“Are you not entertained?” he demanded.
The CNN anchor couldn’t bring herself to say the latest comments on-air, but Baldwin-as-Trump said them unflinchingly: “Grab them by the p—y.”
“Trump” said he would like to “formally apple-agize” — being unable to properly “apologize.” He did, however, have a promise for America’s women, saying if they give him a chance, he can do much more than just “grab it.”
After the interview cut away, “Trump” was caught on another hot mic making more lewd comments, and vividly demonstrating his “grabbing.”
The show cut to “Hillary Clinton’s” campaign headquarters, where Kate McKinnon’s Clinton was literally popping champagne.
