The National Park Service will be offering a series of free events in February as part of Black History Month.
The events will be held at the Mary McLeod Bethune Council House National Historic Site in Northwest Washington and at the Women in Military Service to America Memorial in Arlington.
All of the events follow the theme, “African Americans and the Civil War.” They include a book reading, a performance, and interactive lectures. All are open to the public, but require a reservation.
