Kanye West: Trump’s election proved anything is possible in America

Rapper Kanye West said President Trump’s election proves anything is possible in America.

“When I see an outsider infiltrate, I connect with that,” West said in an interview with radio personality Charlamagne tha God. “I like that it showed you anything is possible.”

“It’s a time for the unconventional,” West added.

Despite West’s defense of Trump, the rapper and fashion designer said he still has warm feelings for former President Barack Obama.

“I got love for Obama. I got love for everybody, every human being that ever existed. But I felt like Obama was perfect,” West said.

Obama’s perceived perfection, West explained, made it hard for black men to make mistakes. Yet he had sympathy for Obama’s experience as the country’s first black president.

“You know what, it’s not his fault,” West said. “You seen that gray hair on that man? It took everything in that man’s spirit and soul to not mention racism in every sentence. This man was the Jackie Robinson of politics. He was the first one to do it.”
