MIAMI (AP) — Events across the state are marking the 70th anniversary of D-Day.
In Tallahassee, a ceremony is being held at the World War II Memorial outside the Leon County Courthouse.
In Miami, consul generals from France, Britain and Canada will join U.S. military officials at a remembrance service at Trinity Episcopal Church.
And in Tampa, World War II veterans are gathering at the Museum of Science and Industry.
D-Day was the largest sea-borne invasion ever mounted. More than 150,000 American, British, Canadian and other Allied veterans risked their lives in the battle to defeat Adolf Hitler.
