Select Colgate products are being recalled by Family Dollar following a notice from the Food and Drug Administration citing improper storage.
Colgate toothpaste and mouthwash were stored improperly with regard to temperature requirements, the notice read.
Recalled products include Colgate Optic White Stain Prevention Toothpaste 2.1 oz., Colgate Optic White Charcoal Toothpaste 4.2 oz., Colgate Optic White Mouthwash 16 fl. oz., Colgate Optic White High Impact Toothpaste 3 oz., Colgate White Toothpaste Icy Fresh 3.2 oz., and Colgate Optic White Stain Fighter Toothpaste Clean Mint 4.2 oz., according to a report.

From May 1 to June 21, these products were stored and shipped to a limited number of Family Dollar locations in Arizona, California, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Utah, the report noted.
Family Dollar has made the stores aware and ordered that employees take inventory of their stock, quarantine the products, and cease sales of them, according to the report.
Customers who purchased the products affected by the poor storage are allowed to return the items without a receipt, Family Dollar said.

No complaints or illness related to the recalled products have been reported, according to Family Dollar.
