FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Fort Worth police say an officer shot fatally shot a man at a house the man was suspected of burglarizing.
A police statement says the incident happened about 8:30 a.m. Friday at the house on Fort Worth’s North Side, where a person who called 911 was hiding with a child. An officer went to the back of the house and saw the male suspect armed with a handgun. Police say the suspect pointed the gun at the officer, who shot the man several times. The suspect was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Neither the officer nor the members of the family inside the house were injured. No identities have been released.
