Three men from Stafford were killed early Saturday morning when a car crashed into a barbershop in Dumfries.
Prince William County police said that a Nissan Altima drivn by 20-year-old Edwin A. Membreno-Potillo was traveling south on Main Street at a high speed. Membreno-Potillo missed a curve in the road, hit a median and then drove into the barbershop at 17792 Main Street.
Police said Membreno-Potillo and passenger Roger A. Membreno, 22, were wearing seatbelts and were killed inside the vehicle. Another passenger, Jose E. Mejia-Lopez, 42, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
The barbershop’s storefront sustained heavy damage and a family in the apartment above the store had to be evacuated. No one in the building was injured, police said.
The crash happened at about 2 a.m.
