A man and a girl were bit Friday by a rabid cat in Chantilly, according to Fairfax County police.
Police said a stray cat bit the 25-year-old man and 11-year-old girl on the 4200 block of Lees Corner Road at about 7:45 a.m. Friday.
The cat was euthanized and tested positive for rabies. The cat reportedly had kittens, and people are advised to not try to handle the animals and report them to the police animal services division at 703-691-2131.
