President-elect Trump’s former campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, plans to relocate to Washington before Inauguration Day and is weighing whether to accept a position in the incoming Republican administration or continue to support Trump from the outside.
“My family is going to Washington, D.C., and I will stay outside among the political superstructure or go to the West Wing and take a position right next to the president,” Conway told Fox News Tuesday morning.
“I just want to find my best and highest use,” she added.
Conway served as a senior adviser to the president-elect before rising to the helm of his campaign in late August. Prior to 2016 election cycle, she worked as a conservative pollster and GOP strategist. The mother of four did not specify which position she is interested in at the White House, but noted that she has discussed leading an outside political group much like President Obama’s Organizing for Action.
“I feel like I have the two most important qualities for anybody to be able to do their job well, which is I have the president-elect’s trust and I have his ear,” Conway said. “I feel like I can’t lose and I feel very bound to serve the country in whatever position.
“If I can do my small part to make it easier for [Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence], or to put into effect these many ambitious policies that they have put forward, then I will answer that call.”
