The FBI has released video of a brazen daytime robbery of a Garda armored truck that ended with gunfire, a fleeing car, and suspects that are still unidentified.
The incident happened last week in Philadelphia at around 10 a.m. The armored truck pulled up to an ATM and a guard exited, carrying black duffel bags of money. A maroon Chevy Trailblazer pulled up behind the armored truck and two men ran out and began the robbery.
One man wearing a mask pointed an assault rifle at the first guard while the other suspect held a handgun and demanded the cash. The second guard then appeared to surprise the thieves by firing at them. The two dropped their guns and the bags of money, with one suspect escaping on foot and one man fleeing in the SUV as the back window of the car exploded from the gunfire.
According to police, a handgun gun was recovered from the scene along with the bags of money and a clip containing 40 to 50 rounds of ammunition.
The FBI is asking for help in identifying the suspects and a reward is being offered for information leading to their arrest and prosecution.
