Alice Johnson has spent much of her time since President Trump commuted her life sentence by thanking him, yet on Thursday evening, she promised to make him proud he’d given her a “second chance.”
“I’m really wanting to fight hard in this whole prison reform effort,” Johnson, who was previously serving a life sentence for a single, nonviolent drug charge, told Fox News’ Martha MacCallum. “That is what is important. I tell anyone who is fighting for their lives, do not give up. You also have to be prepared in case something does happen, in case the miracle does come.”
“My message for President Trump is thank you so much for taking the time to look at my case and look at me,” she continued. “I promise you President Trump I will make you proud that you gave me this second chance.”
