North Korea fired what appeared to be several land-to-ship missiles off its east coast on Thursday, the South Korean military said.
The launch is the latest in a series of missile tests, despite condemnation from much of the world.
South Korean President Moon Jae-in has been briefed on the latest launch.
The head of America’s missile program said testified Wednesday about recent developments. Vice Adm. Jim Syring, director of the Missile Defense Agency, told a House subcommittee that the U.S. is racing to stay ahead of the threat posed by North Korea.
Last month, the U.S. launched a successful test against a mock North Korean warhead.
