Scott Pruitt offered a test drive, like other Cabinet chiefs before him

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt was offered to test drive a Lexus luxury sedan and Toyota’s latest line of Mirai hydrogen-powered cars.

The offer was made by Toyota, according to ABC News. But apparently Pruitt never took up Toyota on the offer.

One person who did take up Toyota on its offer was former Obama administration Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz back in 2015. The Energy Department unabashedly placed video of the drive on YouTube for all to see and recount.

Critics of some of the news reports on Pruitt say the coverage has gotten downright petty.

“The @EPAScottPruitt reporting has the same pattern. New trivial accusation (usually from an anonymous source) followed by a rehash of the previous accusations,” Tom Pyle, president of the Institute for Energy Research tweeted Thursday night. Pyle was part of the Trump’s transition team.

He was responding to the Washington Post’s breaking news on how Pruitt used his security detail to pick up his dry cleaning and moisturizing lotion. “Where is the news here, @eilperin?” he asked, referencing Juliet Eilperin, the Washington Post reporter.
