Dan Bongino permanently banned from YouTube

YouTube said Wednesday that Dan Bongino has been permanently banned from the video-sharing platform after the popular conservative commentator announced he would be leaving the platform.

A spokesperson for the platform said the Fox Nation host was permanently banned for violating the terms of service after violating a seven-day ban on his Dan Bongino Show Clip channel, which shared short clips from his radio show, by posting content to his main account, Dan Bongino Show.

DAN BONGINO TAKES ‘VICTORY LAP’ AFTER YOUTUBE SUSPENSION, SAYS IT PROVES DOUBLE STANDARDS

“We terminated Dan Bongino’s channels for circumventing our Terms of Service by posting a video while there was an active strike and suspension associated with the account,” the spokesperson said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. “When a channel receives a strike, it is against our Terms of Service to post content or use another channel to circumvent the suspension.”

Bongino’s channel, Dan Bongino Show Clips, was put on suspension on Jan. 20. A YouTube representative said content he posted “violated our COVID-19 misinformation policies.”

Bongino told the Washington Examiner that the video YouTube cited in banning his accounts was titled “Why I’m Leaving YouTube.”

In the video, Bongino defended his suspension, saying that a previous statement about mask usage was “widely accepted scientific dogma,” including an old clip of Dr. Anthony Fauci saying something along similar lines.

“Interesting watching them try to spin this to try to save face,” Bongino told the Washington Examiner. “Their stupidity is one of the main reasons I invested in Rumble. Rumble actually believes in free speech.”

Bongino’s The Dan Bongino Show, which tackles political issues on both sides, has been streaming on a YouTube competitor’s site, Rumble, and boasts more than 2 million subscribers.

Bongino previously said YouTube does not apply its moderation rules consistently between liberals and conservatives.

“What’s happening right now across social media is exactly why @dbongino invested in @rumblevideo. Conservatives must become uncancellable,” the Bongino Report posted on Twitter.
