Traffic officials throughout the Baltimore-Washington region are reporting moderate to heavy traffic building heading into Washington, D.C., for today’s inauguration of Barack Obama.
Metro parking lots at Greenbelt, New Carrollton and Branch Avenue lots are full. Greenbelt Metro users should use the College Park lot, though the Prince George’s County lot is nearing capacity. New Carrollton users should Largo lot and Branch Avenue should use Naylor Road or Suitland lots. The Shady Grove Metro lot in Montgomery County is full and the Broken Land Parkway commuter bus lot in Howard County is full.

Traffic mishaps
Crash — southbound I-95 near MD 216 (Right lane blocked) – Motorists should consider US 1 or US 29 as alternate routes. MD 295 (Baltimore Washington Parkway) is experiencing heavy southbound traffic.
· Crash — Westbound I-70 near US 40 Alternate west of the City of Frederick – (All lanes open.)
· All lanes open along southbound MD 355 in Chevy Chase
DC Region
· I-95 between I-695 and I-495: Moderate from MD 212 to the I-95/I-495 Split
· Traffic flowing well across Woodrow Wilson and American Legion Bridges
· I-495 (Capital Beltway) in Montgomery Co.: All lanes open-moderate traffic
· I-95/495 (Capital Beltway) in Prince George’s Co.: Light to moderate traffic along I-95/I-495, heavier near regional Metro stations.
· MD 295 (Baltimore Washington Parkway): Moderate to heavy traffic
· I-270: All lanes open – moderate traffic
· US 50: Heavy traffic near I-95/I-495
