Nordstrom has cut ties with Ivanka Trump’s brand, citing a decline in sales.
The company’s decision comes amid growing calls for retailers to drop Trump products or risk a consumer boycott.
“In this case, based on the brand’s performance we’ve decided not to buy it for this season,” a Nordstrom spokesperson told Business Insider.
Trump-branded women’s clothing and shoes were still being sold on the website as of Thursday evening, though only five products remained from the dozens listed in early December.
Ivanka Trump is also no longer on the list of brands on the website.
A woman who described herself as a lifelong Nordstrom customer posted an open letter — in which she called Trump’s brand “toxic” — to the retailer that went viral in October.
Nordstrom responded in November, saying it the decision to sell Trump’s products wasn’t a political position.
“We hope that offering a vendor’s products isn’t misunderstood as us taking a political position; we’re not,” the company said at the time. “We recognize our customers can make choices about what they purchase based on personal views and we’ll continue to give them options.”
