Migrant worker used as a human hand sanitizer by Saudi oil giant to fight coronavirus

The largest company in the world issued an apology in response to outrage over a migrant worker who worked as a human hand sanitizer station to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

Photos circulated online of a foreign worker dressed up as a human hand sanitizer stand at the headquarters of the oil company Saudi Aramco, which passersby could use.

Facing backlash, the company issued an apology.

The company said in a Tuesday tweet in Arabic that they had “strong dissatisfaction with this abusive behavior,” but did not say how the idea originated or got approved. The company added in their statement that they had taken “drastic measures” to stop the incident from occurring again.

The oil company is worth $1.7 trillion based on its public offering, making it the largest company in the world.

Saudi Arabia has 21 cases of coronavirus.
