Harford County authorities say the suspect they?re seeking in the shooting of an Edgewood man last March also is wanted for questioning in other shootings.

The Harford County Sheriff?s Office has issued a warrant for the arrest of Waymond Lee Harrison Jr., 26, on charges of attempted first- and second-degree murder, assault and reckless endangerment in the March 27 shooting of Gary Dashon Davenport, said sheriff?s spokeswoman Monica Worrell.

Davenport had a non-fatal gunshot wound to the head  when police found him around 1:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of Edgewater Drive.

Harrison, police said, had apparently spent mostof the day before the shooting with Davenport and was seen leaving the crime scene

“We have no idea as to motive, but we do not believe this was a random act of violence,” Worrell said.

The Sheriff?s Office issued a warrant this week for Harrison, whose last known address was in the 100 block of Lionhead Court near the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Police are also seeking to question Harrison about other shootings, but would not say which.

Harrison had pleaded guilty in 2000 to one count of manufacturing and distributing narcotics and was sentenced to five years in prison.

Police could not say if the shooting of Davenport was drug-related. The night after that shooting, 22-year-old Dushawn Germane Bennett was walking near Hanson Road and Longwood Court when he was confronted by several men, tried to flee and was shot.

Bennett lived in the same block where Davenport was wounded and also suffered a non-fatal gunshot wound to the head, but Worrell said investigators do not believe the two shootings were related.

Metro Crime Stoppers, a program including Harford and Baltimore Counties, is offering up to a $2,000 reward for information leading to Harrison?s arrest. Anonymous tips can be left at 866-7-LOCKUP.
