Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon has warned New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani‘s administration about anti-white discrimination.
Her warning to Mamdani’s administration came after the new mayor appointed the controversial Cea Weaver as his “tenant advocate” earlier this month. An old video of Weaver was recently circulated on social media in which she expressed left-wing ideological principles regarding property ownership, specifying that there would be a transition to treating property as a “collective good” and a model of shared equity.
Weaver specifically emphasized that “white families” will have to have a “different relationship to property.”
“I think the reality is that for centuries we really treated property as an individualized good and not a collective good, and we are … transitioning to treating it as a collective good towards a model of shared equity,” Weaver said in an unearthed video making its rounds on social media.
“It will require that we think about it differently, and it will mean that families, especially white families, but some POC families who are homeowners as well, are going to have a different relationship to property than the one that we currently have,” Weaver said.
Additionally, social media posts from 2019 show Weaver commented that property ownership was white supremacy.
“Private property including any kind of ESPECIALLY homeownership is a weapon of white supremacy masquerading as ‘wealth building’ public policy,” Weaver said in a post from August 2019.
“On notice!!” Dhillon said in a post on X about Weaver’s rhetoric.
“New York: Consider this your official notice from @TheJusticeDept,” Dhillon added. “We will NOT tolerate discrimination based on skin color. It is ILLEGAL. @CivilRights is paying very close attention. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
During an interview on One America News Network’s Fine Point with Chanel Rion, Dhillon also said discrimination against white people is still discrimination and that it would not be tolerated.
WILL ANY DEMOCRAT CONDEMN MAMDANI’S MARXIST TENANT ADVOCATE?
“Just because you’re white doesn’t mean you have fewer rights in this country. We all have equal rights in our country, and we will not stand for New York City violating any federal law whatsoever,” Dhillon said. “They should be on notice. They are on high scrutiny.”
“And we will swoop right in and do what’s necessary to protect all citizens and taxpayers and residents in New York who are there legally,” she added.
