No Time to Die another day: James Bond film delayed amid coronavirus outbreak

The upcoming James Bond movie will hit theaters six months after its originally scheduled release date as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

No Time to Die, the 25th Bond film created from the Ian Fleming novels, was supposed to premiere at the end of this month in London and was going to hit theaters in North America beginning on April 10. But with the spread of the virus that has killed more than 3,000 people globally, the latest 007 spy movie will be released in the United Kingdom on Nov. 12 and in the United States on Nov. 25, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

No Time to Die will star Daniel Craig as Bond alongside returning actors Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes, and Christoph Waltz. New additions include Rami Malek, Ana de Armas, and Lashana Lynch.

Before MGM and Eon Productions decided to push back the movie’s release date, they canceled promotional events in China, South Korea, and Japan as the virus first started spreading.

The production companies received a letter earlier this week from a major Bond fan blog, MI6-HQ, calling on them to delay the premiere and “put public health above marketing release schedules.”

More than 95,000 people have been infected with the COVID-19 virus since the disease appeared in China late last year.
