New Jersey authorities arrested and charged one individual in relation to the deadly shooting at a house party late Saturday that resulted in two deaths and at least 12 injuries.
Thirty-six-year-old Kevin Dawkins was arrested and charged with several counts related to weapons use and possession, Cumberland County prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said during a Monday press conference.
Prosecutors will move for detention pending a trial for Dawkins.

Dawkins’s initial charges include unlawful possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of a large-capacity magazine, among others.
Dawkins is listed on a New Jersey sex offender registry, a law enforcement official confirmed to Fox News on Monday. In 2004, he was convicted of aggravated sexual assault for an incident involving a juvenile female acquaintance, according to the New Jersey State Police.
The prosecutor’s office is still conducting interviews as state police search for more possible suspects, McRae said. The interviews could lead to further charges, although prosecutors did not offer additional comments.
New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said more arrests are anticipated.
Dawkins allegedly fired into a crowd at the party and injured at least a dozen, killing Asia Hester, 25, and Kevin Elliot, 30.
Gov. Phil Murphy said the attack was a “microcosm in gun violence” seen across the nation, adding, “This incident only strengthens my resolve that New Jersey leads the nation in gun safety.”
