Donald Trump lashed out at Hillary Clinton after the Democrat claimed during Monday night’s presidential debate that her Republican rival came from a wealthy family.
“Donald was very fortunate in his life and that’s all to his benefit. He started his business with $14 million, borrowed from his father, and he really believes that the more you help wealthy people, the better off we’ll be and that everything will work out from there,” Clinton said at the onset of the inaugural debate in New York.
Trump, before responding to NBC moderator Lestern Holt’s question about keeping corporations from outsourcing jobs, blasted Clinton’s attacking his successful record and how he go to where he is as a billionaire businessman.
“Well, for one thing, and before we start on that, my father gave me a very small loan in 1975 and I built it into a company that’s worth many, many billions of dollars with some of the greatest assets in the world and I say that because that’s the kind of thinking our country needs,” Trump said.
