In his first interview since his car crash, Tiger Woods said he will likely never play golf full time again.
The golf legend said his right leg has not yet fully recovered, and he thinks returning to golf full time is unrealistic.
TIGER WOODS SAID HE ‘DID NOT EVEN REMEMBER DRIVING’ ON DAY OF CRASH, POLICE SAY
“I don’t have to compete and play with the best players in the world to have a great life,” Woods told Golf Digest. “I could still maybe, if my leg gets good enough, maybe click off a tournament here or there.”
In February, Woods got into a major rollover car crash that severely injured his right leg. The 45-year-old said he has very limited endurance in his leg. He did say that he may play the tour one day but ruled out a full-time return to golf.
A week ago, Woods posted a video to his Instagram account of him hitting golf balls again.
During the interview, Woods opened up about his “painful” year. He said he spent nearly three months in the hospital and struggled to walk for a long time.
While he was in the early stages of his recovery, he said he was itching to go out and hit golf balls but was hampered by the state of his injuries. He added that he is still working on building back some of his strength.
Woods said he doesn’t get frustrated watching others play because he knows he is not at the level where he can compete right now. He described himself as a fan watching his friends play.

He said he is improving but has lost a lot of his precision, adding that it would take some time to get it back.
“I’ve made a lot of improvements over the last couple of months which has been nice,” he said. “I still have all the shots on the green, which is nice, but I don’t quite hit them as close as I used to because I’m not putting in the hours.”
