Twelve people were arrested at the D.C. voting rights rally Saturday afternoon, U.S. park police confirmed.
The 12, who were demonstrating on the sidewalk in front of the White House gate, were charged with failure to obey a lawful order to comply with demonstration regulations, park police spokesman David Schlosser said.
All 12 paid the fine and were released, Schlosser said.
D.C. Mayor Vince Gray spoke at the rally, which aimed to protest a U.S. House of representatives bill that would prohibit D.C. from using local tax revenue to pay for abortions for low-income women.
