Last week, the Times featured a story about the role “Fox and Friends” played in Trump’s decisions.
“For years, it [Fox and Friends] was a nontaxing mix of news, lifestyle and conservative couch gab, a warm-up before Fox’s day of politics and commentary. Suddenly, for no other reason than its No. 1 fan, it is the most powerful TV show in America,” the Times wrote.
Fox pulled the quote and used it in a full-page ad in the Times on Thursday, which caught Trump’s attention.
The show averaged 1.6 million viewers in the second quarter and is the most-watched cable news morning show in the country. The show saw a major boost in ratings following Trump’s inauguration.
