What is the Jones Act, and how could its suspension ease fuel prices?

As oil prices continue to rise and fall due to conflict in the Middle East, the Trump administration issued a 60-day suspension of the Jones Act to give customers a reprieve from higher prices at the pump.

The action has drawn fresh attention to the 1920 shipping measure signed into law by President Woodrow Wilson.
