The White House took credit for a positive jobs report released Friday morning showing 227,000 jobs were added to the economy in January.
Press secretary Sean Spicer said Friday the report reflects the amount of business confidence in President Trump’s agenda.
“Today’s report reflects the consumer confidence that the Trump presidency has inspired,” Spicer said.
About 175,000 jobs were expected to be added in January, according to initial projections.
Spicer said Trump is following through on his campaign promises to get the country working.
“President Trump campaigned on knowing how to make America work again and even before he took office, the markets knew he would deliver on that promise,” he said.
But Spicer declined to say exactly how many more jobs were created in January because of the positive environment for jobs he said Trump has created.
