Florida Sen. Marco Rubio let it rip on Twitter Monday night, unleashing pent-up frustration with the Washington Post’s assessment of his political future.
Unnamed sources “close to” often just people who want to sound like they are in the know. And reporters desperate for content just accept it

The former Republican presidential candidate blasted the paper for a story Chris Cillizza wrote, but did not research thoroughly enough. The piece claimed “Rubio, according to conversations I’ve had with people close to him, is sort of betwixt and between when it comes to his next move. Despite some urging to reconsider his plans to retire from the Senate, Rubio seems likely to stand firm and head out in November.”
“Another genius line claims that I’m ‘a bit at sea in terms of his next step politically.’ Ummmm Not really,” Rubio tweeted. “I have only said like 10000 times I will be a private citizen in January.”

While the Cuban-American senator laid to rest rumors about his future one more time, he asked Cillizza to do his homework before believing what alleged sources have to say.
“Unnamed sources ‘close to’ often just people who want to sound like they are in the know. And reporters desperate for content just accept it,” he added.
Although Rubio will be going back to life as a private citizen, he finished the tirade with a joke that sends the whole debate of his future back where it began.
“As for future in politics, well it’s nearly impossible for someone not in office to ever become a successful candidate for President. Right?”

Rubio continued harping on Cillizza for using comments from sources the senator said are not legitimate close friends of his.
A source “close to Rubio” says he was tired after long day & has decided to sleep for a few hours before tomorrow’s ZIKA debate in Senate.

According to source who knows his cousins, wife’s dentist, Rubio could do cardio instead.
