President Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen on Wednesday refused to rule out the possibility that he would accept a book, movie, or TV deal about his time with Trump and his lies on behalf of Trump that led to a three-year prison sentence.
“I have spoken to people who have sought me out regarding a movie deal,” he revealed in a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing.
When Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., asked if he would commit to forgo those sorts of deals, Cohen refused. She asked if he would refuse movie, TV, or book deals, and each time, Cohen said, “No.”
“So you don’t commit to changing your ways, basically? Because you want to continue to use your background as a liar, a cheater, a convicted liar, to make money?” Foxx said.
Cohen’s credibility was repeatedly attacked by Republicans on Wednesday, as he outlined potentially damaging political and legal claims about his work with Trump.
The former attorney pleaded guilty last year to bank and tax fraud, a campaign finance violation, and to lying to Congress about a proposed Trump building deal in Moscow.
