Trump campaign fundraises off migrant caravan: ‘We need a strong, impenetrable WALL’

President Trump is using the incoming caravan of Central American migrants heading towards the U.S. border to raise money for his re-election bid.

“I have ordered the Department of Homeland Security to STOP the caravan of illegal immigrants trying to cross our WIDE-OPEN BORDER,” the Thursday message to supporters read. “But that’s not enough.”

“We need a strong, impenetrable WALL that will end this problem once and for all,” it continued.

The fundraising email asked supporters to sign a petition urging Congress to build the border wall so “every liberal obstructionist senator” can see “the names of every patriot DEMANDING that we build a wall.”

After signing the petition, supporters are asked to make donations ranging from $35-$2,700 to help Trump fight “extreme obstructionism.”

More than 150 migrants who are seeking asylum have already arrived at the U.S.-Mexico border at Tijuana, and more are on the way before a final push in the coming days, according to the the Associated Press.

Trump has pointed to the caravan as a reason why the U.S. urgently needs to build the southern border wall.
