Defense Secretary Jim Mattis visited Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos at Amazon’s Seattle headquarters, a frequent target of criticism for his boss due to Bezos owning the Washington Post.
“A pleasure to host #SecDef James Mattis at Amazon HQ in Seattle today,” Bezos tweeted on Thursday.

President Trump has previously criticized Amazon and Bezos, who also owns the Washington Post, for using The Washington Post to skirt internet taxes.
“The #AmazonWashingtonPost, sometimes referred to as the guardian of Amazon not paying internet taxes (which they should) is FAKE NEWS!” the president tweeted on June 28.
Trump has often accused the Washington Post of being an advocate for Amazon to avoid taxes and regulations.
