A Missouri university has opened an investigation after video footage surfaced capturing students defacing an anti-abortion memorial on campus.
St. Louis University opened an investigation after it became “aware” of an incident involving the destruction of a display designed to commemorate lives lost to abortions, a representative for the university told the Washington Examiner. The university is described as one of the “oldest and most prestigious Catholic universities” in the nation, according to its website.
“On Monday afternoon, Saint Louis University’s Office of Student Responsibility and Community Standards was made aware of possible violations of the University’s Community Standards involving a student organization’s approved campus display,” an SLU spokesperson told the Washington Examiner.
“The Office is conducting an investigation of the report,” the spokesperson added. “The University takes seriously any alleged violation of our Community Standards, and has policies and processes in place to address concerns when they are reported.”
ADVOCATES AND OPPONENTS OF TEXAS ABORTION LAW CLASH IN SUPREME COURT HEARING
SLU’s campus chapter of Students for Life filmed two videos showing students ripping out red flags from a memorial meant to remember the lives lost from abortion. There were 1,000 flags set up, each one representing 800 abortions, signifying a total of 800,000 abortions, Fox News reported.
The first video shows two female students apparently walking through the club’s display and ripping out the flags, while a second video filmed by a different student seems to show more people at night going through the abortion memorial messing with the little red flags.
“Excuse me, could you guys please not touch these? These aren’t your property,” a female student can be heard saying during the second video.
Nick Baker, who said he’s a member of the SLU SFL chapter, tweeted that he had been approached by a student whom he had previously caught on camera destroying the display, who then called Baker “a disgusting misogynist,” according to a video accompanying the tweet.
“You just really enjoy your life,” the female student seemingly adds in another video. “Cause I’ll enjoy mine, and I’ll f***ing keep killing babies.”

SFL chapter President Isabelle Hotard told the outlet that the majority of the campus is “extremely left leaning” and that as a result, it is easier to find students in “positions of authority” who will be more understanding of people on the Left than the Right.
The Washington Examiner reached out to the SFL chapter at SLU for a comment but did not receive a response.
