D.C. Council Chairman-elect Kwame Brown announced that Washington Nationals vice president Greg McCarthy will lead his transition team. McCarthy will head the eight-member team that will help Brown prepare for taking the council’s reins Jan. 2. McCarthy heads the Nationals government and municipal affairs and was Mayor Anthony Williams’ deputy chief of staff from 1999 to 2006. “[Brown] told us to think big and look outside the box and to be aggressive,” McCarthy told The Washington Examiner.
